“No good tree bears bad fruit, nor does a bad tree bear good fruit. Each tree is recognized by its own fruit. People do not pick figs from thornbushes, or grapes from briers. A good man brings good things out of the good stored up in his heart, and an evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in his heart. For the mouth speaks what the heart is full of.
Luke 6:43-45 NIV
I’m a Christian! That is what we all say if not most of us who say we’re saved say, right?
But what fruit do we produce?
If we say we’re Christian but our fruit is envy, hatred, dishonesty and anger then are we really Christian?
The fruit we produce needs to be Christ-like.
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.
Galatians 5:22-23 NIV
As Christians, we ought to produce fruit that is of the spirit. Just like a tree that has Good fruit.
How do we produce such fruit?
Have our hearts in the right place.
Your heart is like your garden. If your garden isn’t well taken care of then your fruit either won’t grow or it will not produce good, healthy fruit. Meditate regularly on the word of God in order to maintain your garden/heart that it may produce good fruit through you.
Protect your heart!
Protect your heart from all the things that the enemy may try and illegally grow in there like fear, insecurity, etc for they are like alien plants and reduce the growth of your fruit whilst increasing it’s own growth. Protect it from the words of discouragement from the world and people around you as they are like pests eating up on your fruit and leaving it ruined.
Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.
Proverbs 4:23 NIV
