Valley of the dry bones.

The hand of the Lord was on me, and he brought me out by the Spirit of the Lord and set me in the middle of a valley; it was full of bones. He led me back and forth among them, and I saw a great many bones on the floor of the valley, bones that were very dry. He asked me, “Son of man, can these bones live?” I said, “Sovereign Lord , you alone know.” Then he said to me, “Prophesy to these bones and say to them, ‘Dry bones, hear the word of the Lord ! This is what the Sovereign Lord says to these bones: I will make breath enter you, and you will come to life. I will attach tendons to you and make flesh come upon you and cover you with skin; I will put breath in you, and you will come to life. Then you will know that I am the Lord .’ ” So I prophesied as I was commanded. And as I was prophesying, there was a noise, a rattling sound, and the bones came together, bone to bone. I looked, and tendons and flesh appeared on them and skin covered them, but there was no breath in them. Then he said to me, “Prophesy to the breath; prophesy, son of man, and say to it, ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says: Come, breath, from the four winds and breathe into these slain, that they may live.’ ” So I prophesied as he commanded me, and breath entered them; they came to life and stood up on their feet—a vast army. Then he said to me: “Son of man, these bones are the people of Israel. They say, ‘Our bones are dried up and our hope is gone; we are cut off.’ Therefore prophesy and say to them: ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says: My people, I am going to open your graves and bring you up from them; I will bring you back to the land of Israel. Then you, my people, will know that I am the Lord , when I open your graves and bring you up from them. I will put my Spirit in you and you will live, and I will settle you in your own land. Then you will know that I the Lord have spoken, and I have done it, declares the Lord .’ ”
Ezekiel 37:1‭-‬14 NIV

Have you ever been in a place in your life where everything felt dry as if you were in the Sahara desert? In a place where everything in your life is completely bone-dry? Where you wondered how you could’ve ended up in such a place when you are a child of God?

What if God placed you there? What if it was his plan to put you in a desert-like place?

“Why would He do such to His child?”

Because He wanted everything in your life to be dry so He can show you how much importance He holds in your life.

If we look at the story of Ezekiel, we see God purposefully placed Ezekiel in the valley full of dry bones. Maybe it’s like that with us where God has removed us from a placed of abundance and purposefully put us in this desert for a particular reason. Remember God doesn’t do spontaneous, He knows at all times the when, how and why.

So just like Ezekiel, we are faced with drought in our finances, families, friendships, employment, churches,countries, etc and we are at a crossed roads over what to do… what if the what to do was right in front of us but we aren’t listening. Okay I’ll explain that later.

We’re in the middle of this desiccated situation and God asks if we are able to resurrect all of this that we are witnessing. I honestly would laugh and look at him like “sir, only you have that power remember?” .. don’t judge me, lol.

What we don’t realize is that God has been preparing us for this season. What did you think all this time spent with him was for? God doesn’t spend so much time with you, investing his knowledge inside you for you to sit and be pretty, no, sorry to burst your bubble… lol.

All that time with God was to ensure that when you entered the valley of dry, parched bones, you were prepared to resurrect them. God wanted to show you that because He lives in you, you can do all things through Him who gives you strength.

So remember when I said that maybe you aren’t listening to the what to do… so here’s what I mean:

As humans, when we are faced with confusion, chaos and a bunch of mishaps in our lives, we enter a complete panic. You know you do even if it’s for two seconds😂. It’s okay when that happens but the problem with that state of hysteria is that it can put us in a I can’t and I don’t know how mode where we completely shut out the voice of God who is trying to tell us the how so we can activate the can.

In order for us to hear the how from God we need to have the right state of mind to identify the voice of God in the chaos of the panic mode. Once we are able to hear the voice of God telling us how to resurrect and give life to these bones, we will then be able to unleash the I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength. {Philippians 4:13}

So next time you are confronted with a dry situation and you are panicking about how you are going to go back to the place of abundance you once were in, remember :

A. Silence the chaos

B. Listen for the voice of God.

C. You can because He can because He is in you !
