It’s okay to be different

Before I begin, I just wanted to give you a brief summary of my life. Well after giving my life to Christ, I drew closer and closer to God but further from the world, wierd right🤔¿ Actually nope😆

Because Romans 12:2 says

Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is- His good, pleasing and perfect will.

The word conform means follow , keep to, etc. But I want to emphasise on the word follow. This verse is basically telling us not to follow the ways of the world but be transformed in the renewing of our minds to be Christ-like.

Blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked or stand in the way of sinners or sit in the seat of mockers.

-Psalms 1:1

Here, we’re shown what type of things are in our world but if we choose not to walk in them and not conform to them, then we are blessed. It does not matter what others think of you. You are set apart, He has chosen you [Deutoronomy 14:2]

World vs God:

World says:

Failure is an option

God says:

“Though a righteous man falls seven times, he rises again, but the wicked are brought down by calamity.” [Proverbs 24:16]

World says:

If you aren’t first then you’re last.

God says:

“So the last will be first and the first will be last.” [Matthew 20:16]

World says:

If you’re not somebody, you’re a nobody

God says:

“I will make you the head and not the tail. If you pay attention to the commands of the Lord your God that I give you this day and carefully follow them, you will always be at the top and never the bottom.” [Deutoronomy 28:13]

So the basic point of this message is that let’s be different, not like the people of this world but walking as the blessed ones of the Lord.
