God says I’m (You’re) Beautiful!

1 Peter 3:3-4

“Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as elaborate hairstyles and the wearing of gold jewelry or fine. Rather, it should be that of your inner self , the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirot, whuch of great worth in God’s sight.”

In this verse, God is telling us that our beauty is not from the outward appearance or objects ,meaning that as God’s Anointed Princesses, we should not be looking at worldly, materialistic things like make-up and latest trends to be beautiful ( but I’m not saying that stop using or applying those things, just don’t use it as a source of feeling beautiful but as a way to enhance your God-given beauty).

To be honest, I’m not the type who wears what everyone wears ( I don’t have vans and superstars and all the brands) and at first it really bothered me but now it doesn’t because I know that God does not care about what I look like on the outside but what I look like on the inside (My heart). So let’s not look at the outer but moniter the inner so that God can manifest from the inside-out.

Ephesians 2:10 and Genesis 1:27 talks about how we are God’s handiwork and that He created us with His Own hands in His Own Image. I was talking to my mom, last year , and she said something that changed my whole thought process. She said that we should stop calling ourselves imperfect if we are made in His Image. If you were made in His Image, what is there not to love? Is the eyes? the body maybe? Oh oh, maybe the face?🤔 (asking myself those questions too)

Girl I’m here to tell you that we have to let go of our insecurities concerning our physical features and lets be encouraged by God’s word which reminds us how fearfully and wonderfully we’ve been made by HIM (Psalm 139:14).

1 Timothy 2: 9-10 is telling us, women/ladies/girls, “to dress modestly”. We are to dress appropriately [ not saying long skirts] but I’m saying you should be well covered not showing body parts willy-nilly. Dress in a manner that among other things shows that you are glorifying God.

And last but certainly not least, Proverbs 31:30, one of my favourites , speaks on how beauty is fleeting and “charm and grace are deceptive”. This verse relates to the 1 Peter 3:3-4 because if you have a gentle quiet spirit and worship and fear the Lord, you will be praised. To end this off, don’t look at the world’s definition of beauty but God’s Definition.

*side note: Read 1 Samuel 16:7

  1. Exactly what I was working on teaching In a speaking engagement with teens. I kinda like you a lot, especially your mindset. For a lady to be sharing such insight I am impressed.

Indeed God cares about the inside more than the outside. It’s not like he dose not care at all about the outside 😀

I nominated you for an award https://godlyminds.wordpress.com/2018/02/11/the-mystery-blogger-award/ you deserve it.
